The route climbs towards Salamiou, a traditional wine-growing village near the beautiful Diarizos Valley, with changing scenery of vineyards, orchards, valleys and small rural communities. With several distinct climbs, a high point of around 680 m, and long descents back towards the coast, this is an excellent choice for experienced riders looking for a substantial day combining climbing, quiet roads and authentic rural Cyprus.

The Kourion Loop is a long but relatively low-altitude road ride that combines Cyprus’ Mediterranean coastline with one of the island’s most impressive archaeological landscapes. Covering around 110 km with 1,290 m of accumulated climbing, the route is predominantly on asphalt and features a succession of manageable climbs rather than one major mountain ascent.
